Introducing: Sir Percival, III- Velinwood Compliance Dept.

Introducing: Sir Percival, III- Velinwood Compliance Dept.

Sir Percival Badger, III has that "I went to compliance school for THIS?" energy while trying to keep Court operations running smoothly.

Court dynamics:

  • Bunny calls him "Percy" → Badger bristles but tolerates it
  • Emma's treasure map notation → he doesn't know what to do with that
  • Arch respects him → both love regulations
  • Reginald ignores him → actors vs. compliance = natural conflict
  • Velin jealous → new advisor displacing him
  • Queen listens closely → Badger doesn't realize how much influence he actually has

Characteristics:

  • Formal, proper, structured (they build elaborate burrow systems with rules)
  • Black and white striping = literally embodies rules/order/compliance
  • That long-suffering British energy (Wind in the Willows Mr. Badger vibes)
  • Can absolutely hold his own against Bunny's chaos
  • Natural sighing energy
  • Grumpy but fair
  • Surprisingly fierce when pushed but mostly just wants things ORGANIZED

THE STAMP: A badger paw print (four toe pads, clear impression) with the word "VERIFIED" stamped beneath in precise capital letters. The ink is always deep burgundy - official but slightly warmer than pure black. When he stamps documents, it makes a very satisfying thunk sound that brings him unreasonable amounts of satisfaction.

THE SEAL: Heraldic Design: Shield divided by diagonal badger stripes (black and white), centered with a brass balance scale (representing fairness in compliance). Crossed quills behind the shield (representing documentation and order). Border of ivy (representing structured growth and permanence).

Banner beneath: "Ordo Per Diligentia" (Order Through Diligence)

Seal color: Deep forest green wax with brass seal impression

Special property: When pressed into wax, it leaves a faint scent of pine and parchment - the smell of organized archives and proper procedure.

He is already:

  • Standing with clipboard while Bunny awards himself gold stars
  • Stamping documents with that satisfying thunk while the Queen rearranges everything he just organized
  • Trying to file Emma's treasure map field notes in some logical system
  • Sighing deeply as Reginald declares compliance "antithetical to art"
  • Secretly pleased when Arch compliments his filing methodology

He has no idea what he's gotten himself into. But he has his stamp, his seal, and his dignity (mostly).

He keeps both on his person at all times. The stamp lives in his left waistcoat pocket. The seal hangs from a chain he pretends to find cumbersome but secretly treasures.

Sir Percival III and Bunny don't exactly see eye to eye, but they get along, mostly Percival sighs and tries to keep the order.

He's the new advisor to The Queen. Bunny likes to mess with him a little bit but only fun, no spite.

Emma mostly ignores him but once wrote his name down in her field notes with a gold star and a red "X" like it was a treasure map.

The Queen listens to Sir Percival quite closely, even if she doesn't appear to.

Bunny sometimes calls him Percy, but just to see what that does.

Velin is in the background, nodding like he planned this while also scowling at not being the only advisor to The Court anymore, re-arranging The Queen's playlists to include dramatic mood music so she might pay more attention to him, and scribbling love notes in the corners of photographs.

Archivarius is entirely absent from the picture, he's probably in the archives knee-deep in mis-filed paperwork, he likes Percival though: "Regulations, order...yes. Finally"

Sir Reginald Fluffsworth Esq. ignores him entirely stating: "There is no such thing as emotional compliance when you are an actor" (heavy accent on actor like it's a foreign word).

Welcome to Court, Sir Percival. You are just on time.
